Thrust 1: We utilize physics, chemistry, and machine learning tools to explore new possibilities for tissue imaging, cancer diagnosis, and personalized treatment for cancer patients.

Themes include advanced optics, AI, cancer:

  • Raman microscopy, stimulated Raman scattering imaging (label-free live cell and tissue imaging, methodology)

  • Ultrafast Raman histology and cancer diagnosis/prognosis

  • Tissue clearing and high-throughput volumetric imaging

  • Machine learning aided cell and tissue imaging and fast phenotyping

  • Subcellular metabolomics

  • Tumor microenvironment

  • Neurodegenerative disease models

Thrust 2: In the era of AI, we develop novel imaging methods for brain sciences. We use artificial neurons as one of our tools to study biological neurons.

Themes include:

  • Tissue clearing and high-throughput volumetric imaging

  • Neurodegenerative disease models
